Find & Search Old Cheque Records
Whether you are preparing for a bank reconciliation or an annual financial audit, locating historical cheque records in ChequeSystem is quick and straightforward.
Every printed cheque is automatically saved and indexed within your cheque book. You can easily retrieve old records using two main methods: searching the cheque list or generating a report.
Method 1: Locate Records in the Cheque List
The primary way to view past transactions is directly inside your cheque book.
- Sort by Column: Cheque records are displayed in a clean tabular format. Click the Date column header to instantly sort transactions in ascending or descending order.

- Search & Quick Filter: Use the Search & Filter bar in the top-right corner to quickly find specific records by status or date range.

- Use Advanced Search: For a more precise search, click Advanced Search (located just below the quick search bar).

This allows you to filter by multiple specific criteria:
- Text Fields: Payee name, particulars, audit code, or remarks.
- Financial Details: Exact cheque numbers or specific amount ranges.
- Categories: Cheque types, date ranges, or custom highlighted colors.
Tip: Need to work with your search results? Right-click anywhere on the list and select “Export Current List” to download an exact, WYSIWYG Excel (.xls) file of your view.

Method 2: Extract Records Using Reports
ChequeSystem includes robust reporting features that help you extract detailed historical data and gain clear business insights.
To retrieve older records via a report:
- Go to the Reports section and select the Account Report.

- Select the specific cheque book you want to audit.
- Customize your search parameters by setting your preferred date range, amount range, and cheque types.

- Choose the exact data fields you want to display in your final export—such as Date, Cheque Number, Payee, Amount, Particulars, Audit Code, Status, and Remarks.
- The report can be previewed, printed, or exported into Excel or PDF format.
