Enable Automatic Receipt Cutting
To make sure your receipts are cut automatically after every transaction, you need to turn on the “Auto-Cut” feature in your computer’s printer settings.
For Windows Users:
- Open your Windows Start Menu and search for Printers & scanners.
- Click on your thermal receipt printer from the list and select Manage (or Printer properties).
- Click on Printing preferences.
- Look for a tab named Document Settings, Advanced, or Paper/Quality.
- Find the Auto-Cut, Page Cut Type, or Paper Source option.
- Change the setting to Partial Cut (recommended) or Full Cut.
- Click Apply, then OK.
For macOS Users:
- Open the receipt you want to print and click [Print] button open the print dialog.
- Select your thermal printer from the dropdown menu.
- Click on Show Details if the print menu is collapsed.
- Click on the dropdown menu in the middle of the window (it usually says Preview or Layout) and select Printer Features.
- Look for a feature named Cut Action, Page Cut Type, or Paper Cut.
- Set it to Partial Cut.
- (Important) Before printing, click the Presets dropdown at the top and select Save Current Settings as Preset… Name it “Receipt Printing” so your Mac remembers to cut every time.
