Expiration time of domain affects the Google Ranking?

Some people on Internet claims that the expiration time of a domain name will affect the google search result ranking. If the domain name will be expired within one year, the ranking will be dropped. For those “old” domains, they can have a better ranking.

Are they correct? No.
