Share Workspace between Two Computers

ChequeSystem is a standalone application, and does not have network/multi-user access features.

However, you can set the Data Folder (we called it workspace in ChequeSystem) to a network drive/shared folder, so that ChequeSystem from different computers can connect to this location and access the same data.

You need to install ChequeSystem on both computers. Please ensure you’ve install the same version of ChequeSystem on both computers.

Setup in First Computer

In ChequeSystem of First computer, you can set your workspace in menu “File > Switch Workspace” and create a new workspace in a network drive.

You can use a folder in server that both computers can access to. For example, we create a “chequeSystem-data” folder in our server and use \\EVSNAS\chequesystem-data as workspace folder.

Setup in Second Computer

In ChequeSystem of second computer, you also need to create a workspace. You need to first choose “Connect existing workspace” and select the same workspace folder (as in the first computer).

Now, ChequeSystem in two computers point to the same folder in the network drive and they can access to same set of data.

There is one limitation with this approach, ChequeSystem in different computers cannot access the same workspace at the same time. As the database is locked when ChequeSystem is running, ChequeSystem in another computer can only connect the same workspace in READ-ONLY mode.
